No School Monday, October 9th!

BASKETBALL: On Tuesday, October 24th, the SCS Cougars will play Laurel Homeschool for the first games of the season. Please come out and join us!  On October 30th they will play at home as well. For a complete schedule visit the SCS website. (Tickets are: $5 for adults, $3 for students, no charge for children under four, with a family maximum of $15.)

SPIRIT WEEK: Students in grades 7-12 will be participating in Spirit Week on October 23rd-30th. They will be dressed for Spirit Day, Region Day, Empire Day, Super Hero Day, etc. On October 30th all students (K4-12) may wear pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness.

OCTOBER 31st: Please remember that SCS does not celebrate Halloween. Students/parents are reminded not to bring ghosts, goblins, devils, witches or other inappropriate toys, pictures, lunch boxes, etc. Any of these items that show up at school will be taken to the office by the classroom teacher and returned to the parent at the end of the day. If you would like to bring a classroom treat, please check with the classroom teacher BEFORE purchasing.  Thank you for assisting us maintain a Christ-honoring environment.

OUTERWEAR: Please make sure your child’s name in on any of these items. Teachers and staff not responsible for keeping up the items without names. Any water bottle, thermos, food storage container etc. that does not have a name on it will be disposed of after a week due to health issues.

DRESS CODE:  Solid color sweatshirts in school colors (navy or forest green) with the SCS logo which may be purchased at Land’s End. (We will no longer be sending out order forms from the SCS office.)  OUTERWEAR PERMITTED IN CLASS: Sweaters in solid navy, forest green, or white with a shirt underneath that meets dress code (with logo); also, windbreakers, fleece jackets, or fleece vests in solid school colors only, and SCS letterjackets. No jackets other than those listed above may be worn in the classroom.    SOCKS/TIGHTS: Girls may wear tights, stockings, or socks in solid navy blue, forest green, or white.
